In printing technology, moiré is a term used for a disturbing pattern formation, which can occur when several grids are placed on top of one another and the corner angles are not correctly aligned.
In textile technology, shimmering mat patterns with single-coloured materials (ribbed material or taffeta), can be produced, which create the effect of moving waves.
In TV technology, a striped pattern on an object can interfere with the lined grid of the screen and produce an undesirable effect of movement or flickering.
The back of the basket interferes with the front to create a real moiré effect that has nothing to do with image processing.
Virtual or technically induced moiré effects only occur during image processing and cannot be observed in the real world.
